Move Authorizations to another Reservation

The ability to move a Credit Card Authorization (Security Hold/Credit Limit) to another reservation. Currently, we take a Security Auth when the guest checks in, but if the guest then books a consecutive stay (through Expedia etc. rather than just extending the current res), we have to check out the current res and we lose the auth. We then have to get the guest to come to the desk so we can take a new auth.
It would be amazing if we could just move the Authorization onto the consec res rather than release it.
