Improve the guest/user interface of IRM to display availability

Develop a more robust and interactive interface with online booking for the user. From a guest perspective, it's helpful to see on the calendar days that are sold out, days that are available for check-in or check-out only, and also to be able to select your stay from the calendar.

When availability is limited, it can be challenging for a guest to book online with the existing IRM interface. If they don't put in the exact dates that a property has availability, it is hit or miss—like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

It would be AMAZING for the user and for the property to see the real time availability for dates, so a traveler may consider arriving a day earlier or later, or for a 3-night stay rather than 4, etc.

Competing online booking engines have features such as this. We love the back end functionality of the IRM but miss some of the user features.

I have attached some images to further illustrate this idea. The existing IRM calendar feature is not very functional nor is it user friendly.

    Supported for Preassign mode only:

    RDPWin / IRMng Configuration / Reservations tab - the Calendar View group box will be visible.

    Check the Allow Calendar View checkbox to enable configuration

    Choose how many months to display and room type / room number sort order

    Advanced Search criteria including room type, guest requests and property code (if applicable) is recommended in order to be able to narrow down search results.


    Location code is not implemented at this time


    Room number dropdown will not display in advanced search (it interferes with browse all mode).


    If nothing matches the search criteria selected, the resulting message is configurable in RDPWIn / IRMng Configuration / Customize / Messages / NoMatchFound


    URL to calendar view: ...irmng/index.html?target=calendar


    Also, if calendar view is allowed, there will be a button on the available rooms list to get to it from there.


    CMSng can configure calendar view to be the default, in which case the url is just .../irmng/index.html


    Colors (and legend text) for the calendar view can be customized from RDPWIn / IRMng Configuration / Customize tab / Calendar Legend


    Blocked dates show as unavailable.


    Dates not available due to no rate cannot be shown in the calendar view as unavailable (rates are not being calculated at this time)


    To book from the calendar view:

    • Click the Select button for the room to book

    • The browse all view for that room only is displayed (description , photos, calendar, amenities, details tabs)

    • Click the Select Dates button to specify stay dates

    • Rates are then displayed

    • Proceed with booking
